Arrival in Paro – Thimphu | Distance: 59 Km | Driving Time: 1 Hour | Sleeping Elevation: 2300 meter
On arrival in Paro, you will be received by Tales of Bhutan representative and transfer to Thimphu. On the way we will hoist the memorable prayer flags on the bridge, making the best wishes for the life. The drive takes about an hour thirty minutes to reach the city depending on our breaks and picture stops. Thimphu is one of the most beautiful and smallest city in the world. We will explore the city by walk on our own or relax in the hotel. Overnight in Thimphu, altitude 2300m.
Thimphu Sightseeing (Top Attraction in Thimphu)
There are lot of best places to take you around like, Memorial chorten, Buddha point, Changangkha Lhakhang, Takin the national animals preserved areas. Nunnery, art and painting school and Tashichoe Dzong.
Thimphu – Punakha | Driving Distance: 2 Hours | Distance covered: 79 km | Higest Elevation: 3150 Meters | Sleeping Elevation: 1350 meters
Drive through Dochula pass over 3010m when the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan with a view that stretches almost 180 degrees. After a short tea break continue drive to the sub-tropical valley of Punakha. Visit Punakha Dzong (fortress) which houses the most elaborated temple in the country. One can also visit Souvenir making center. Overnight in Punakha, altitude 1350m.
Punakha – Trongsa | Distance: 180 km | Driving Time: 3 ½ Hours | Highest Elevation: 3250 meter | Sleeping Elevation: 2150 meter
Check out of the hotel and visit Chimi Lhakhang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus. Drive over Pelela Pass at 3300m which forms the part of Black Mountain Range. We will also make lot of photo stop on the way. Late evening we will check in to our hotel.
Trongs – Jakar | Distance: 62 Km | Driving Time: 2 ½ Hours | Highest Elevation: 3350 Meters | Sleeping Elevation: 2450 Meter
Visit the famous Trongsa Dzong, important home for our ancestor. Visit Trongsa museum, which houses the most important antique of Bhutan. We will stop on the way to see the beautiful landscape and wild flowers. Lunch at Bumthang and evening we will stroll around the town.
Jakar Sightseeing (Top Attraction in Bumthang/Jakar)
Visit Jampay Lakhang, the one of the first 2 Buddhist temples built in the country. This is the home of the naked dance that is still performed annually. Visit Kurjey temple, the site where the royals are cremated. One can either walk cross the suspension bridge and visit the village of Parar and Tamshing on foot or drive there. End your day with a walk passing by the Swiss farm. Evening stroll in Jakar town and try some local pancake and noodles. Overnight in Jakar.
Jakar – Phobjikha | Distance: 197 Km | Driving Time: 5 Hours | Highest Elevation: 3350 meter | Sleeping Elevation: 2900 Meter
We will check out from the hotel and retrace our journey back to Phobjikha valley, the most beautiful winter home for black necked cranes. We will also take a walk, if time permits, otherwise will visit the most historical Gangtey Monastery.
Phobjikha - Paro (3hrs 30min)
We will start our day back to Paro, via lawa la pass and dochula pass. Reaching paro we will stroll around the town. We will witness archery match and try our self some outdoor activities. We will also wear some traditional Bhutanese attire, gho for man and kira for women.
Paro Sightseeing (Top Attraction in Paro)
After our breakfast we will start our important hike to tiger’s nest temple. Afternoon we will take rest or try out some hot stone bath.
Paro – Chele La Pass | Distance: 39 Km | Driving Time: 1 ½ Hours | Highest Elevation: 3988 Meter
Morning we will drive upto Chele la Pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan with the elevation of 3988 meter. you will be greeted with thousands of prayer flags on the pass, with the glimpse of Haa Valley and mountains. Lunch in the town and afternoon we will visit Kichu Temple, the oldest Temple in Bhutan from 659 AD and Rimpong Dzong, the historical fortress in Paro built in 17th century. We will also wake down to the beautiful wooden cantilever bridge to get the best picture of the Dzong.
We will walk around the town and end the program here.
